Ubuntu Community

Ubuntu is a great open source operating system that is used around the world.  Developers can use Ubuntu for all of their needs.   Being the leading open source operating system, you can do anything from game design, to music editing.  Even if you’re just in need of a fast operating system, Ubuntu if right for you.  Some of the world’s leading companies use Ubuntu for development.  Ubuntu has a bug squad, which attends to bugs as they are filed.  There are contributors all around the world, because Ubuntu is used around the world.  An ongoing project in the Ubuntu development community is Snappy. Snappy is the Ubuntu Core system for large-scale cloud container deployments, a big improvement from Ubuntu. Snappy makes an even crisper host for docker deployments. This new system is important because it provides transactional updates to Ubuntu core. Snappy also provides a more secure operating system. Another important development is unity8. In the Ubuntu-next image, Unity 8 is packaged with mir and snappy. Unity 8 for desktop will look a lot like it does on the phone. Unity 8 currently only works with Mir and Intel. That will change when Nvidia and AMD drivers gain proper support for mir.
